    Having a bad subform day (2000 SP3)

Sub form Text will not automatically extend vertically though the properties of the detail section and the text boxes allow for extension.

Also would very much like to export the data of the sub form to excel or word without using a report.

Forms do not adjust themselves to the amount of text. The CanGrow property of forms applies only to printing them. You can export any data by using a query. If you get a bit more specific, someone can assist you with the details.

The Can Grow property of controls on a form only works when printing (or print previewing) the form, not when displaying the form on screen.

You could create a query that displays the same data as the subform by using criteria such as

    Forms!frmMainForm!MainID

for the field that links the main form to the subform. You can then export this query to Word or Excel.
