Deleting unprotected section leaves blank page (Word XP)

I have created a Word template with a couple of protected sections in it (see attached). There is no password on the protected sections.
In the first section of the template I have included instructions of how to use the document.
The instructions says to delete the first section from the document. However, this leaves the section break at the end of it.
Is there a way to delete the unprotected section of the document including the section break?

You could make a macro available through a custom toolbar button and/or keyboard shortcut:

ActiveDocument.Sections(1).Range.Delete
