    Re: concatenate value (2002)

    Sorry, I don't understand - what are you trying to accomplish and where does concatenation come into it?

    Re: concatenate value (2002)

    Sorry, I guess that was a bit vague.

    =Abs(Sum([cboBookStatus1]="Paid"))

    returns a value of (let's say) 16 in the report footer. I want it displayed as (16)

    EDIT "concatenate" was totally the wrong term to use!

    Re: concatenate value (2002)

    Uh, how about putting "(&)" in the Format portion of the properties box.

    Note: On second thought, the term concatenate was appropriate in this case because (apparently) my brain cells weren't "linked together"

    Re: concatenate value (2002)

    So are you trying to figure out how to add the parens around the result?

    <code>="(" & Abs(Sum([cboBookStatus1]="Paid")) & ")"</code>

    Or are you asking how to set the format property to wrap the result in parens?

    (Typical of most of what I try to do, I don't know what I'm trying to do)

    Your solution works as well. Thanks Charlotte, long time no talk to.

    format value (2002)

    Trying to return the value in brackets; can't seem to get & "(" & placed correctly

    =Abs(Sum([cboBookStatus1]="Paid"))
