    InchesToPoints Globally (Word 2000)

Problem: existing Word document has paragraphs all marked with .LeftIndent = InchesToPoints(0.13)

Since other attributes (? ) of the paragraph marks are not the same I cannot globally change the .LeftIndent with a simple find and replace. Manually I could do each one, but no thanks.

Can one examine each paragraph mark and set the .LeftIndent = InchesToPoints(0) through a simple macro?

You CAN use Edit | Replace to do this. Only those aspects of the paragraph format you specify will be changed, all other aspects will be left alone.

Would that I could. Apparently I am para abnormal.

Have attached a segment from the original document. In it I could change 1 paragraph mark but not the others.
I tried using use formatting and then formatiing with ^p. The paragraph marks at the end of the sentences still have 0.13".
Currently trying this offisite with Word 2003. Document created in Word 2000.

You shouldn't enter anything in the 'Find what' and 'Replace with' boxes. There is a problem, however: not all paragraphs have the same left indent. Most have an indent of 0.125", and one an indent of 0.1298611". None has an indent of exactly 0.13". The easiest way to set the indent to 0 is to select the entire document (Ctrl+A) and either reset ALL paragraph formatting (Ctrl+Q) or select Format | Paragraph..., set the Left Indent to 0 and click OK.

Here is what you could have done to set the left indent to 0" for only those paragraphs that have a left indent of 0.125":
    - Select Edit | Replace...
    - Click More.
    - Click in the 'Find what' box and make sure it's empty.
    - Click 'No formatting'.
    - Select Format | Paragraph...
    - Click in the Left Indent box and type 0.125".
    - Click OK.
    - Click in the 'Replace box and make sure it's empty.
    - Click 'No formatting'.
    - Select Format | Paragraph...
    - Click in the Left Indent box and type 0.
    - Click OK.
    - Click 'Replace All'.

Thank you very much. I thought I was being clever by recording a macro to see the size.
Since the size was rounded, was it an arcane method to determine the actual indentation?

    Just Curious.

I clicked in a paragraph, switched to the Visual Basic Editor and typed the following in the Immediate window:

    ? PointsToInches(Selection.ParagraphFormat.LeftInden t)

    then pressed Enter.
