error message regarding a macro (MS Excel 2002)

Every time I open up excel I get an error message (see attached .jpg image) indicating that it has a "run-time error '1004' that has to do with a macro on a hidden workbook. I have no idea what it is talking about. I never created any macros or hidden workbooks. Any ideas on how to get rid of this without un-installing and re-installing?

Thank you Hans for responding so quickly and many thanks to Jan for the excellent walk through!

It turns out that I had acquired an add-in that I was not aware of that was causing the problem. Everything is back as it should be and my Excel opens without complaints.

I never cease to be amazed by all the great technical (and moral) support I get here in Woody's Lounge. You all are the best.

    Thanks again!
