Exclusive Access (Access 2000/2003)

Is there a way to force users out of shared database to gain exclusive access?

Thanx for this link Hans.

Hi Aheron...This is an interesting Q. I often wondered how this could be done (abiding to friendly etiquette). I recently saw a popup while in windows on a network where the popup asked discreetly to shut down the PC for Updates to be activated.... and it allowed the user to select one of two command buttons.. Shut Down Now or Shut Down Later. If you clicked Shut Down Later...this dialog irritatingly popped up every 5 minutes. Eventually out of frustration you actually do Shut Down!!!

PS: In my opinion...just go to the master wall switch for the network server and switch off...switch on again and run to open Access first!

See ya
Regards,
Rudi

Just think of the havoc I could cause if I was lounge administrator! I'll do my thing and hide behind a BIG
