Default Margins (2003)

Other than saving a document with the margins I always want when Excel opens as a "new normal", is there any other way to change the default margins in Excel?

No, not as far as I know. (I assume you refer to creating templates named Book.xlt and Sheet.xlt)

I told her she could name "it" whatever she wanted - just glad that for a change I actually knew something.

    Thanks again

Not sure what you mean by

I told her she could name "it" whatever she wanted

The equivalent of Word's Normal.dot in Excel is played by two templates that MUST be named Book.xlt and Sheet.xlt (for the English version, the names are language dependent) and MUST be stored in the user's XLSTART folder. Book.xlt is the template for a blank new workbook, and Sheet.xlt for a blank new worksheet inserted in a workbook.

I actually told her to just change the margins, save the document as a template named whatever she wants and when she wants to use these margins, just open the template and save it as whatever.

Anyway - she's on her own now. And again, thanks.
