Outlook Express 5 Outbox problem

I have a message with an attachment in my outbox which I want to delete but I can't. Every time I start Outlook Express it automatically starts trying to send this message, but it never completes. It seems to just spin it's wheels and sometimes causes me to lock up. Any ideas how I can get rid of this message? Thanks.

close express. search for the outbox.dbx file and rename it. open express, a new outbox.dbx file will be created.
