    Keyboard Shortcut to End Style (Word 2002)

    I forgot the keyboard shortcut to end a style. I wanted a heading style and normal style on same line and cant remember how to do it.

    Thanks!

    It's called a style separator and the shortcut key is Ctrl+Alt+Enter.

    It's a built-in shortcut, so it should work unless you have assigned Ctrl+Alt+Enter to something else. Try the following:
    - Select Tools | Customize...
    - Click Keyboard...
    - Click in the box labeled "Press new shortcut key".
    - Press Ctrl+Alt+Enter.
    - What is listed below the box, after "Currently assigned to"?

    - Click Close twice.

    If all else fails, you could create a simple "replacement" macro and assign it to a toolbar button or key combination:

    Sub InsertStyleSeparator()
    Selection.InsertStyleSeparator
    End Sub

    Aha! I think the workaround for earlier versions of Word was to select the paragraph mark at the end of the first paragraph and style it (and only it) as hidden text.

    It's kind of hard to assign a keyboard shortcut to a non-existing command <img src=/S/grin.gif border=0 alt=grin width=15 height=15>

    As Jefferson wrote, make the paragraph mark at the end of the first paragraph hidden. The keyboard shortcut to toggle hidden text on/off is Ctrl+Shift+H.
