    Cannot access Shared Folders

I Have 2 Computers, E & D both running Windows XP Home Edition with S.P. 2. They are networked via cable and E is connected to Broadband via a Modem. Both computers show in My Network Places and I can access the shared folders on D from E. I can access the internet from D and also use the shared printer. I can view the folders on E from D, have proved this by changing name, but cannot open them even though permission to share has been given. I get an error message when attempting to open them, as follows: ' E(folder name) is not accessible. you might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions. The network path was not found.'

    Re: Cannot access Shared Folders

Welcome to the Lounge. I'd suggest you start with Home and Small Office Networking with Windows XP. There are several links on the page that may be of assistance.
