    Stop auto correct (2002 sp3)

I often use the abbreviation e.g., and i.e., and Word has an annoying habit of capitalising the "e" and the "i". If I think about it, I just hit ctrl-z and cancel the correction and keep typing but there must be a way of selectively stopping these sort of corrections.

    Thanks

Select Tools | AutoCorrect Options... and activate the AutoCorrrect tab.
    Click Exceptions...
You can specify abbreviations that shouldn't be capitalized.
