    Sometimes they have a small switch on them to make them Read Only - see if you can see it. (I believe they have the same function as the 'write protect' tabs on floppy disks.)

    delete protected file ....

    My friend take me a gift a, pen drive 1Gb.
    Into this pen are many file but during a deletection i have "all file are protected from write" or when i formta the pen recice "this drive is protect to write", how to delete files or format the pen?

    Do you have any instructions with it?
    Or can you tell us the make and model? - it may be possible to software-protect the drive.

    You will have to Google that one yourself, I think - all I am getting are hits in Italian (and I don't mean 'O sole mio'...)

    Depending on what the files on the drive are, it may be a 'promotional gift' that is not designed to be re-used.
