    picture object animation question

Using Powerpoint 2000. I have a slide with four small pictures on it (like thumbnails). I'd like to be able to click on each small picture object and make it appear (with animation effects?) at the full size of the slide, without having to hyperlink to a separate slide showing just that picture object. The reason is that I'd like to be able to move back and forth between the slide with the 4 "thumbnails", and the respective individual larger views of each picture, in a random order, depending on questions from my audience. Any suggestions?

How about setting the larger pictures as four separate custom shows. The custom show is like a hyperlink but has a Show and Return option to bring you back to the original slide.

Slide Show/Custom Shows/New/"Name of Custom Show"/Slide to be included
Slide Show/Action Settings.../Hyperlink to/Custom Show/ "Name of Custom Show", check Show and Return.

Egghead- that sounds like the ticket, thanks. With custom shows are there any considerations I need to be aware of when I pack & go my presentation? Will Powerpoint automatically include the custom shows?

. . .and building on egghead's answer, don't forget that you can set the thumbnails to activate on 'mouse over' so you don't even have to click - just move the cursor over whichever one the audience is interested in. <img src=/S/2cents.gif border=0 alt=2cents width=15 height=15>
