    Change language setting (XP), entire presentation (XP)

    As a translator I receive PPT files for translation.
    With PPT, this usually means typing over the existing text in a different language.
    If the slides use a template, I can change the template's language setting. Unfortunately, most clients do not use templates properly. Worse, most presentations contain lots of text boxes, often with different language settings. To do I spell check of all parts (headers, slides, text boxes, notes, etc., I first need to change the language setting of the entire presentation. It should be possible to do this in a single operation or using a macro. Last year a similar posting resulted in some leads, but I couldn't get any of the suggested macros to work properly. Any new suggestions?

    Does this variation on a macro by <!profile=Webgenii>Webgenii<!/profile> help?

    Sub SetLanguage()
    Dim sld As Slide
    Dim shp As Shape

    For Each sld In ActivePresentation.Slides
    For Each shp In sld.Shapes
    If shp.HasTextFrame Then
    shp.TextFrame.TextRange.LanguageID = _
    msoLanguageIDEnglishUK
    End If
    Next shp
    For Each shp In sld.NotesPage.Shapes
    If shp.HasTextFrame Then
    shp.TextFrame.TextRange.LanguageID = _
    msoLanguageIDEnglishUK
    End If
    Next shp
    Next sld
    End Sub

    Replace both instances of msoLanguageIDEnglishUK with the appropriate language ID.

    Thanks Hans.
    That's definitely better than I've seen to date.
    Fro some strange reason, a few text boxes seem to slip through the net, but not many.

    If you wish, you can attach a presentation (zipped if necessary) with text boxes that aren't caught, so that Loungers can test it. Replace sensitive or proprietary text with dummy text.
