name cells and change cell ref to name in formulas (excel)

    Hi,

    I have a question,
I have been given a workbook to look through and make changes so that its using most of excell beautiful functions
right away i notice that none of the cells have name refs.

there are many formulas through the workbook, and they are just referencing the cells conventional refs. ex A1+B1
    instead of Name+Name2

Is there a way once i name all the cell a proper name to have the formulas change automatically to the cells namesor am I going to be having to audit every formula and change the name?

    Thank you for your time

Once you have defined names, you can select a range of cells, then choose Insert | Name | Apply...
You can specify which names you want to apply in the formulas within the selected range.

I'd suggest using my Name Manager. Not for what you asked, but for anything else you would like to do with defined names.
