FP changes w/3rd party html? (FP 2000/XP)

Been using FP 2000 for about 4 years now and last night is the first time I've noticed this - question is can FP be configured to 'not' change code not entered withing FP?
Scenario: I use FP to manage my FP extension enabled web site - I use a 3rd part software to create my photo album pages. All I do in FP is link text on my gallery page to the index.html for my album page. Publish from FP and everything is honky dorey - or so I thought. It seems that FP added some code to at least one of my 3rd party html pages that disrupts the slideshow's viewability. Phew... <img src=/S/stupidme.gif border=0 alt=stupidme width=30 height=30>
(the change was that FP added dimensions to an image tag - according to that author the dimensions should not have been there).
I know that FP needs to 'follow' the links in the new html pages so it knows what to upload, so can I stop it from doing this?
I suppose I could use a full url address - would that stop FP from checking it's vailidity? - then I could upload my 3rd party code independently?
    Wandering Minds need to know <img src=/S/scratch.gif border=0 alt=scratch width=25 height=29>
    Thanks
    Bob

There is a tag to preserve manually entered HTML. Check out <post#=291697>post 291697</post#>.

Thanks for pointing that code out Jefferson, I had forgotten about it <g>.
Not knowing if that particular tag is the only one that FP is changing, I'm leaning more on going the absolute url addressing instead - although that in itself may bring up some other quirks to adjust.
    Thanks again
