Free Graphics Software... revisited

The last mention of the FreeSerifSoftware site in the Lounge (as far as I can tell) was from Diegol, some 2

"Serif 's monthly Newsletter and other carefully targeted email offers from Serif's group of companies including TheGadgetStore.com and Harvard Graphics"

The increased spam that they promise to send you might be considered a catch. I'm planning on trying this software, but I am considering using a throwaway email address, just in case.

I haven't updated my Photoplus version for a long while, but all I can say is it's been of great use since I first downloaded back in 2002. It's currently not among my programs list, but I tend to reinstall whenever a need for more sophisticated image edition arises.

A throwaway account seems a good idea from what I've heard too. I've used mailexpire and Mailinator (immediate, dead easy) for this purpose. There are lots of others.

Alan, I couldn't help but at some subtle humor when I went through the setup of PhotoPlus....when selecting a default paper size, you get two options:

    US
    -or-
UK (and rest of the world)....

Obviously somebody just *has* to be different

Yeah... that "rest of the world" lot. Why can't they just fit in with the US, and stop being the odd one out all the time?

You are not alone. According to this site. (too much information on paper)

The United States, Canada and in part Mexico are the only industrialized countries in which the ISO standard paper sizes are not yet widely used.

Note the "yet" although I expect that this won't happen overnight, (or overdecade).
