Messages just sit in outbox (2000)

I connect to gmail with my outlook with a pop3 connection. I have no problem receiving messages, but when I try to send a message, nothing happens. The Send/Receive sync completes, but the message is still in my outbox.

I figured it out myself....for some reason I had to change Outgoing Server (SMTP) to 587 instead of the GMail instructed 465. So now if anyone else has a similar problem - here's a solution that worked for me
