    word forms (word2002)

How can I create a form with check box form fields AND text form fields that BOTH allow a user to use the template by entering data in the text form fields and choosing the check box fields as needed. Currently I get either one (protected=check boxes function) or the other (unprotected=text form field functionality)

    Welcome to Woody's Lounge!

Both text form fields and check box form fields only "work" in a document protected for forms. In an unprotected document (or section), typing will replace a text form field, and you cannot "tick" a check box. See the attached example

Hans, Thanks for your help- I was hoping to be able to have the check box function AND the replace text as you type function as the form is a request form and is completed electronically then saved-it's a template for repeated use.

I'm afraid I don't understand what you want. Have you tried using a check box and text box from the Control Toolbox instead of from the Forms toolbar?
