    Converting to Date (2003/SP1)

Our products are given a day code in the following format - 08NOV5SF. Which is the date, month, year and manufacturing location. Within Excel, I want to turn it into a date format, preferably mm/dd/yyyy. I wonder if anyone has a conversion that I could use for that? Thanks for any help.

I feel silly answering my own question, but one solution came to me right after I posted. It's a 2 step process so there still may be a better way but what I did is in one column, put in the formula =LEFT(C5,6), which returned the date, month and year and then used =DATEVALUE(E5) in the next column, formatted to the date format that I wanted and got what I want.

    Hi Don,

You can eliminate one column by using:
    =DATEVALUE(LEFT(C5,6))

    Cheers
