All tool bars and menu bars are gone

    Word 2000.

After starting Word I get an empty document but all the toolbars and menubars are gone.
Using the help function I managed to get to the maintenance window for the toolbars and menubars and noticed they are realy gone!

Deleting normal.dot and restarting Word to make a new one made no difference.

Uninstalling Office, restart the computer and installing Office againt did not make any difference.

Anyone: how do I get the default menu bars and tool bars back?

It sounds like Word is in View Full Screen mode. If you move the mouse pointer near the top of the screen do you get the menu bar? If so, then goto the View Menu and turn Full Screen off.
