only if they publish it or give you permission to open it.

using exchange server? try this: from the file menu in outlook, choose open > other users folder. select calendar and their name. if you have permission, it'll open in a new outlook window.

Yeah, that is somewaht wat I want (but I knew this one). I want the same effect (opening the calendat of that person in a new Outlook window, but then initiated from within Internet Explorer instead of Outlook.
It is meant for an extranet application (Addressbook), where, if a person is not in the office you can click of a link to open up his calendar. If you do not have the correct permission, ofcourse nothing will happen.

But, initiated from IE, is that possible for a calendar different that your own (own is typing in the address outlook://calendar) ?

Re: Open other calendar in IE

for it to be opened in IE, it needs rendered in HTML - IE can not open the mailbox.

You'd need a utility (script) to read it and render it. Exchange server offers the OWA, but you need to log in as the user whose folder you want to see.

there is a script at <A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.cdolive.com>http://www.cdolive.com</A> that can render public folders as web pages, not sure if it works on mailboxes, but you need exchange admin rights to install it. it's ex2000 only i think.

the only other option is for the others to save it as HTML (file menu) and publish to a shared location, either file or web server. They need to update it as needed by resaving.

Re: Open other calendar in IE

That's not what I meant. I just want to use the adress-bar of IE, not the rendering ! If you type the adres [outlook:calendar] (without the brackerts) in IE, then an OUTLOOK-window opens with your calendar. I want to do the same, but not with my own calendar, but someone else's....

you need rights to the calendar - and hte proper systax.
It would be like this, but with the correct user name:
    outlook:Mailbox - MaryCalendar

BTW - according to help, it must be in your folder tree to work. (add it on the advanced tab of your exchange profile)

i can open one not in my tree using
    outlook:Inbox
it opens the only other box i have rights on.

    Mary,

that is the first step indeed, thanks.
But....(why is there always a but? <img src=/S/smile.gif border=0 alt=smile width=15 height=15>)do you know a standard syntax for that ? We have mixed Dutch and English Clients, this doesn't work for all clients..
Nex to that it seems that it only works when the user's mailbox is already open in Outlook (when it is opened on startup), otherwise I get an error...
