    Subtract fields in queries (access)

Subject edited by HansV to aid in future searches

I am working with queries and I am trying to do a formula through expression builder to subtract one field from the other to get the total. I am confused on how to build it. Thanks.

    Welcome to Woody's Lounge!

It's probably easier to do this directly in the query design window. Say that you want to subtract Field1 from Field2 and want to name the result Difference. In the first empty column in the query grid, enter the following:

    Difference: [Field2]-[Field1]
