select email recipients by catagory (Win XP Outlook 2002)

I have my contacts placed in catagories, and want to select all the people in a catagory to get the same email. So I use advanced find to locate them 'by catagory' but then cant pick up the names to put them in the To: box. Drag and Drop wont work, right click gives no 'mew message to...' option, File>New>Message produces an empty email with no one in the to box. I have run out of ideas. Any help?

Are they all in the Contacts folder (not spread among multiple folders)? If so, try View by category and see whether when you select multiple recipients you have more options than in the Advanced Find dialog. Maybe you have to copy and paste or drag and drop them into the address fields?

Re: select email recipients by .... Many Thanks

Sorting by catagory then selecting all (or some) of the contacts in that catagory then lets me use the 'new message to contact' button on the toolbar.
I remember being able to do this, and wonder if this is the method I used. (I had forgotten there was a 'by catagory' view).
Anyway you answered the question as usual, so many thanks
