An unwanted Explore window opens upon logging in

When I log on to my ID in Windows an explore window opens up with a title of "AutorunsDisabled" I am able to close the window by hitting the x . It does not seem to be causing any problem but is anoying. How do I stop this from happening? Where do I go to select/deselect what runs on the startup?
    Thanks

Did you disable any startup programs with MSCONFIG?

I have that annoying problem too. Please speak very slowly-and leave nothing out. Expect that I know nothing. I have no idea what the first "advice" was talking about!!

if you are asking about what Joe was referring to... well if you go to Start > Run... and then type in "MSCONFIG"

The same window with the 'AutorunsDisabled' title or just a Windows Explorer instance.

Re: An unwanted Explore window opens upon logging in

I finally had the time to try to correct this nuisance. I used the MSCONFIG documentation info from netsquirrel.com however the start up screen under the system configuration utility on my computer does not match anything in the documentation which says I should have at a minimum ScanRegistry, TaskMonitor, System Tray, LoadPowerProfile. My startup items are
NvCpl, SNDMon , Spysweeper, msmsgs, ctfmon , wkdetect , Microsoft Office, Microsoft Works

As a refresher --the problem is that upon startup I have an (actually 2) unwanted Explorer window pop up. The window is titled "Autoruns Disabled"
I am trying to find out what causes them to pop up and how to stop them
btw- they do not cause any problem that I can see.

    I need help
