    mailing labels (2000-SR1)

In a report for mailing labels, how do I take records from two different tables and combine them in one query or report?

Do you mean there is data in 2 tables or you require to join 2 tables?

If the data is in 2 tables then you can use a union query.

    A union query goes like:
    SELECT fldA, FldB, FldC
    FROM tableA
    UNION ALL
    SELECT fldA, FldB, FldC
    FROM tableB

As long as the fields line up by data type, ie. that fldA is the same data type in both tables.

First build a query, then base the mailing labels report on the query.

Start a new query in Design view, and when the "Show Table" dialog box comes up, add both the tables to the query.

Have you defined a relationship between the two tables? If so, they will be automatically connected once you add them both to the query grid.

My answer interprets your question completely differently from Patt's answer. We might need to clarify which is the correct interpretation.
