Office 97 has an add-in which does this. I don't think there is a separate product. You just need to do a re-install and add the option.

there is an organizational chart in word plus there is visio - visio may be overkill though.

A common use of MS Organization Chart is in PowerPoint. If a slide layout using an organizational chart is chosen, double-clicking on the object in the slide will automatically launch the program.

PowerPoint is really kool for this. Manually drawing a text box (with drawing tools), duplicating each box (Ctrl D) and drag to where you want. After situating boxes, draw arrow (with drawing tools) to where you want connections. This prevents the nightmares of accidently placing one subordinate under another. Plus, you can get rid of anything anytime and nothing else is effected. Hope this helps! <img src=/S/bash.gif border=0 alt=bash width=35 height=39>

Both Word97 and Word2000 have Microsoft Organization Chart 2.0. On Word2000 at work, I had to ask to have it added on to my computer, it was not a "default" add-on. You access it with Insert | Object and scroll down the selection to almost the end. When you're in it, look in the Help - it mentions a more extensive program.
