    Acting like a template (2002)

One of our engineers is designing a new database front-end. Several times when he opens the database front-end, he gets a copy of the database with the name of the original followed by the number 1. This appears to be acting like a template. The original is not saved as a template. He is the owner of the folder in which the original is saved. It doesn't occur every time he opens the file.

Has anyone encountered this issue? Is there something in the code that should be changed to stop this from occurring?

Could it be that he clicks "Choose file..." under "New from existing file" instead of "More files..." under "Open a file" in the "New file" task pane?

Thanks, Hans, that was exactly what the engineer was doing.
