    Shell Folder Missing (5.1.2600 SP2)

    Now I've done it! <img src=/S/stupidme.gif border=0 alt=stupidme width=30 height=30>

Somehow I managed to make the My Documents folder that appeared under Files Stored on This Computer in My Computer disappear. It used to be listed right under the Shared Documents folder. I'm guessing this will cause me problems. How do I mend this self-inflicted wound?

    Try the following:
    - Select Start | Run...
    - Type regedit and press Enter.
    - In Regedit, navigate to

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMi

OK, I think I know what happened. I was transferring (using the Files and Settings Transfer Wizard) from another machine to this one in anticipation of getting a new machine for me. Well, that never happened so I had to try to undo everything. I must have missed something along the way. Since my first post I did a System Restore to a point before I ran the Wizard and now I have the folder back where it belongs but it has the wrong name. (Joe's Documents instead of My Documents) The actual data (sub folders and files) is fine and all belong to me and My Documents also appears correctly in the regular path. Now I just want to rename the folder "Joe's Documents" where it appears under Files Stored on This Computer in My Computer.

The name under Files stored on this computer is always <name>'s Documents, not My Documents.

Aha! <img src=/S/clapping.gif border=0 alt=clapping width=19 height=23> All I had to do was to change the name of the User Account. Thanks Hans!
