    Prevent users to connect to a running Excel-instan (2000)

    Hello,
    I know that I can set <Application.IgnoreRemoteRequests = true> to prevent other users connect to that instance of Excel easily.
    BUT in the other application I can run:

    dim myXL as Excel.Application
    set myXL = GetObject(, " Excel.Application")
    myXL.Application.IgnoreRemoteRequests = False

    Now I can bind to that instance of Excel again. how can I prevent that?
    I appreciate your help,

    Welcome to Woody's Lounge!

    Why would anyone use that code, except if it's really necessary?

    Ok, let me explain. I have an Excel program, I disable all Excel menu and toolbars (Customize, ...) and enable just my designed toolbar and menu. Now if a user in any reason (hacking my program) can access this instance of Excel, he can enable all system menus and save my Excel files with all data and formula. I don't want this happens. Please advice.

    If you need to create a really secure application, Excel may not be the ideal tool. It might be better to create a stand-alone application in VB.net, VB6, C++ or the like.
