    Copying format (2002)

In Outlook 2002, when I compose or reply to a message using Rich Text, is there a way to copy and paste the format? Like in Word, where you can click on the paintbrush icon and paste the format. Thanks!

Not unless you use Word as your e-mail editor, but I don't like that myself (it keeps a copy of Word in memory all the time)

Thanks, Hans. I have Word opened all the time, anyway. How do I set Word as my editor for Outlook?

In Outlook, select Tools | Options...
    Activate the Mail Format tab.
Tick the check box labeled "Use Microsoft Word to edit e-mail messages".
    Click OK.

    Re: Copying format (2002)

Thanks again, Hans. That works, but now, when I open an email, I receive a warning indicating that "A program is trying to access email addresses you have stored in Outlook. If this is unexpected, it may be a virus and you should choose 'No.' Allow access for n Minutes." I take it that the program is Word, and that would seem fine. Is there a way to premanently disable this warning?

Do you have the PDFMaker add-in from Adobe? It's known to cause problems like this.

    Re: Copying format (2002)

I do have the Convert to PDF / PDFMaker add in. If its the add-in that causes this problem, if there's a way to remove it, I could, and just open and use Acrobat to create a PDFs from Word files. I also noticed that, when using Word as my email editor, I lost the Outlook button to insert the signature that I created in Outlook. I can just write a Word macro and use that instead, I imagine. Thanks again for all your help!

Unfortunately, the PDFMaker add-in is not compatible with Word as e-mail editor. See Removing the Acrobat Toolbar from Outlook and Microsoft Office XP Service Pack 3 on the Slipstick site.
