    portrait monitor

My new monitor swivels from portrait to landscape. (I have to physically move the screen.) If I want to use the portrait mode, is there a way to make the Windows display flip so I don't have to read sideways? I'm using Windows XP.

It would depend upon your video card. Check Display>Advanced, and look for something in your card's settings that lets you change the orientation. My current ATI card allows it, as do most Nvidia cards.

    Re: portrait monitor

To change your display mode to portrait, you must install a software which comes with your monitor. (For example, if you use ViewSonic VP series LCD monitor, you can install PerfectPortrait software.)

If installation CD was lost or damaged, contact your monitor vendor.

You can also buy a third-party program, as

    or similar.
