    Access to Outlook

    Hello,

    I know how to access the tasks in outlook from access but am having trouble with assigning tasks to other users.

    Has anyone any experience of this, and if so can you point me in the right direction.

    Thanks,

    for anyone else suffering, I have found out that it is not possible to create taskrequests within automation.

    Hi,
    Although it's true you can't create a taskrequestitem directly, something like:
    Set myOlApp = CreateObject("Outlook.Application")
    Set myItem = myOlApp.CreateItem(olTaskItem)
    myItem.Assign
    Set myDelegate = myItem.Recipients.Add("John Smith")
    with myItem
    .Subject = "Do some work"
    .DueDate = #6/21/2001#
    .Send
    end with
    should create a taskrequest in the John Smith's inbox once it arrives.
    Hope that helps.
    Regards,

    Cheers Rory that works well.

    Why do microsoft say that this can't be done? Very strange.

    Well, technically they're right - you can't create a task request via automation. You can however create a task, assign it to someone and send it, which then causes a task request to be created. They should have mentioned that last bit really! <img src=/S/grin.gif border=0 alt=grin width=15 height=15>
