    No visualizations (XP home)

Helping someone set up a new Dell home PC, I am trying to get visualizations on the Media Player to show up. When I click one on the dropdown list, nothing happens. What might that be?

You have to have music playing to see the visualizations.

You must install visualisations. To download visualisations, visit

    Visualizations for Windows Media Player

    Re: No visualizations (XP home)

WMP 7.1, 8, 9, and 10 include visualizations by default; once a visualization is selected (via the drop-down menu), it will be shown in 'Now Playing' once music is played with the media player. If music is not being played, all that is shown is a blank area. The page you referenced in the above post, Visualizations for Media Player ,
is a location where additional MS and third-party visualizations can be downloaded, however, these are not necessary in order to view the default visualizations.
