    Win2000 - Windows Explorer

My office PC has just received an MS Office upgrade. Now when I use Windows Explorer to navigate through folders the View Thumbnails displays only a box with a Windows banner inside. I've tried some settings like "Open With" but can't seem to get Explorer to do what it used to do. Can you offer a suggestion or solution?

    Re: Win2000 - Windows Explorer

Just to clarify, you are trying to browse around with Windows Explorer using thumbnail view, and the thumbnails are not being generated?

You might try doing a system-wide search for (hidden) files named thumbs.db. Delete all instances you find. This should force Explorer to rebuild thumbnails by taking away the cached versions. If this doesn't work, there's a problem deeper in the plumbing of Windows itself.
