Attaching an imbedded Word document to Outlook (Access 2003)

    Hi All,

I am developing a database with email functionality. I am trying to figure out how (in VBA automation code) to refer to Word documents that are stored in a table within the database to get them attached to an email. Can anyone help me with this?

    Thanks in advance

Re: Attaching an imbedded Woerd document to Outlook em (Access 2003)

    Welcome to Woody's Lounge!

If the documents are stored in the table itself instead of linked, it's going to be tedious. I think you'll have to load the field into a form and activate the object, then save the document to a file and attach it to an e-mail, so it would involve automating both Word and Outlook from Access. It would be much easier if the documents were linked. Is there any chance that you can switch to linked objects?

    Hi Hans,

I appreciate your response. I am going to try a few things over the next few days and if I cannot get the code to work I am going to do as you suggest. I just want to do it all in access if possible. Hopefully someone out there will see this post and provide a workable solution - if indeed one exists.

    Thanks,
    Rick
