# Thread: Build Pyramid or Triangle (2002)

1. ## Build Pyramid or Triangle (2002)

Has anyone created an image to "build" a pyramid or triangle in their slide? I have 6 concepts that build on the previous, and I think it would make sense to start with a bottom layer, then have the second concept fly in and rest on top concept one, etc., until reaching a pinnacle or capstone. I suppose I could draw this with lines, and I have found an autoshape triangle with 4 layers and colors, but I need to add to it and make the layers fly in on their own. I will experiment with grouping next...thanks in advance!

Hi Sarah

This is a bit of a clever use of parallelograms, triangles, rotating and placing.... a bit fiddly

Do you want a square based pyramid and what colour layers do you want, I could knock one up in a seperate graphics application if you like

Srah

Is this what you are looking for (it's in ppt XP)?

4. ## Re: Build Pyramid or Triangle (2002)

Thanks, Jerry. That is what I'm looking for but with two more levels. Here's my attempt, but the base starts to flare out.

Enjoy

How's this?

7. ## Re: Build Pyramid or Triangle (2002)

Looks good, Jeremy. I can work with that.
Now someone will have to explain how this is done so I can add levels in the future :-)

Sarah, be sure to check out Jezza's...it's much more in depth.

All I did was create it paint, draw and erase dividing lines, and copy/paste the segments...

1) Draw transparent triangle as guide.

2) Draw triangle whilst holding down shift key to get equilateral

3) Draw rhomboid, adjust base to fit width of triangle and then adjust top with yellow handle

4) Copy and paste, repeat three until you have the layers

Fiddle about until it all fits in guide triangle, delete tranparent triangle

5) Add numbers and select the rhomboid and text box containing the number and group, repeat for each layer

6) Animate each layer

I quite like Jeremy's so I have beefed it up a bit

I don't understand this, the poster asked for a Pyramid and everyone posted triangles.

This is a pyramid (or at least the closest that I can produce).

Hi Stuart

This was a "step process" post as the title state-Build Pyramid orTriangle (2002)

Your powerpoint is rather impressive and was going to be my next step if required. I searched the web prior to posting and the Pyramid appears to be the industry term (especially in education) for what we would normally call a triangle

Your work appears to be a useful resource though

Jezza,

You are, as usual, correct.

That's beautiful, but you need to add a spin effect so that the base makes a 1/8 revolution while the nexxt layer flies in!
