    Won't get Email; Won't Close (2000 with SP 3)

IF I use Outlook long enough it stops downloading Email from the server - this has only started happening since I switched from Dial-up to Cable about a year ago. I've been able to work around this problem by watching out for days when I don't get Email and then shutting down Outlook and then opening it back up. But NOW, it has stopped really shutting down. It appears to close, and Task Mgr. cannot find it under Applications, butyou cannot click on the Outlook icon and start it again. I usually try that a few times and then try to reboot the computer - the computer, as it begins to shut down, puts up some window saying it is trying to close Outlook and gives an option to close and lose all my work in Outlook. It usually closes normally, then I see multiple instances of Outlook displayed (whicha re prob. from me trying to click start it as noted above).

Can anyone help? Not only is this a terrible annoyance but I could miss critical, strategically important Email...

Try running scanpst and see if that makes a difference.
