Groups Columns both ways (Win XP XL2002)

I have a sheet with several columns collapsed into a group, with a summary column. I can choose whether the summary is to the left or right of the data columns, but would like to have it both ways in the same sheet - different sets of columns summarised one left one right. When I choose in tools>group and outline>settings I can set the whole sheet either way, but not both at once. Is there a way???

I'm afraid I don't understand. Could you provide an example?

As far as I can tell, there is only one OUTLINE object on a worksheet and thus this property (SummaryColumn) can either by xlRight or xlLeft. It does not seem to have ability to be both of them.

Note: I rarely use grouping and outlining, so maybe someone else could has seen a workaround.

My only suggestion would be to ensure that the summary columns are all moved to the right or left side...
