    Numbered Step Style (Word 2003 SP2)

    With a .DOT, I'm having a problem creating a single style for a numbered step for use in training guides. Here's what I presently get:

    Head
    1.
    2.
    3.
    Head
    4.
    5.
    ...

    What is desired is that, for each time a style changes (e.g., another Head separating one step series from another), the subsequent step renumbering should begin anew (1). Ideas?

    Welcome to Woody's Lounge!

    Try using Heading styles with Outline numbering. Numbering for Heading2 automatically restarts after a Heading1 paragraph, and you can control this by customizing the heading styles if necessary.
