Missing previous messages off a printout (Outlook 2000 SP3)

We often need to print a hardcopy of an email - outgoing or incoming - to put in a job file which is used by other people not necessarily cc'd on the original electronic message.

We have the default setting enabled where replying to a message automatically includes a copy of the original message (and want to keep this setting).

Is there a way, when printing a message which includes copies of earlier messages, to restrict the printing to the current message only - ie. to miss off the earlier messages?

    Thanks

Outlook prints the e-mail "as is". You could select the text of the current message, then select File | Print... and click "Selection" in the Page Range section of the Print dialog...

Sorry - I meant nearly spot on!

Hans, I've just been running some further tests on this, and the print dialogue box I get for lots of messages doesn't have the Page Range section at all (and therefore the crucial "Selection" option is also missing). On these messages the print dialogue is a stripped down box, with just 4 sections:-

Printer, Print style, Print options and Copies

Memo style is highlighted in the Print style section.

Am I right in thinking that the "Sections" option is only available if the email to be printed is HTML fomat?

If so, is there any way to do accomplish a part-printout for a Plain Text formatted email?

    Thanks

Oops, you're correct, it only works for HTML messages. There doesn't seem to be any way to control what is being printed for RTF and plain text messages, so I fear you'll have to resort to:
    - Select Edit | Edit Message.
    - Delete the part you don't want to print.
    - Print the message.
    - Close the message without saving it.
    Not very attractive, I admit.

Thank you Hans. That is a workaround I can certainly live with!
