Comments in protected sheets (XP on)

    Hi

I have a worksheet with some complicated formulas that I want to protect using Excel's sheet protection so that other users can't overwrite them. Tools>Protect sheet works perfectly except that when I lock the sheet users are also prevented from adding comments to cells that are not locked. The menu option becomes greyed out.

Can anyone suggest a way round this?

When protecting the sheet, tick the check box "Edit objects". See screenshot.

Many thanks, Hans. Absolutely what I wanted.

    Intuitive, not!
