export report to .html, which include photographs (2000)

    Hi there,

I'm a new user to access so excuse my ignorance. However, I am attempting to create a simple 'Inventory' database of some items which I would like to sell via eBay, Craigslist or other. In the database I have:
    Item number
    Qty
    UnitPrice (and total price)
Photograph (a small 160 x 120 pixel .bmp image of the item)

When I preview the report, I see all data and the .bmp image on screen. However, when I attempt to 'export' the report to .htm or .html, there is no tag (or any related data) for the .bmp image, although all other data IS constained within the HTML file.

    Question:
How do I get access to include a link to the image in the exported HTML file.

    Thanks

    Welcome to Woody's Lounge!

Unfortunately, exporting images is not supported when you export a report to HTML format or RTF format. This has always been a weak feature of Access.
You could export to PDF format using Adobe Acrobat or one of the freeware/shareware PDF creators.

Hello Hans (that's my brothers name also !)
Ok ! So, since I'm driven to output to html, you inspired me to just create an additional text field which will contain the <img src = "somefile.bmp">. I have now done this, and although the output needs some 'global' search/replace, I think I can accomplish this task in this manner.

Second question. I notice that when I export to HTML, it asks me for a template file. Where would I go to get information on designing this template file to include the MSAccess field code anchors.

Thank you again for your input

You can find some info in Microsoft Office Assistance: About the types of Web pages Access creates (expand the section HTML template files)

    Thank you again Hans,

I have seen this template, but was wondering and hoping that there was a more extensive feature list.

I'll use my alternate thinking to get the job done, crude, but it will work with minimal effort.

Thank you again for your time
