    Word 2003 Gone Wild (2003)

Just started on a new computer at work with Word 2003. After about a week of using the machine, and creating some simple macros, for reasons I can't fathom, every time I start the program, it opens a SAVE AS window which I cancel out of and then it does it a second time. After cancelling a second time the program seems to function fine. Tried deleting Normal.dot and letting it rebuild but that meant I lost those macros which had to be reconstructed. Everything was fine for a few days, program started and didn't give the SAVE AS windows. Then it just started doing it again. What is going on?
