html to excel (office 2003)

i have a time problem, ( not timing ) i down load a web page from our company site and save it to my desktop. close the web page and then open the web page in excel. what takes me seconds to down load take 3 minutes + to open in excel.
can any one suggest a method of opening the file so the time lag will not be as noticeable.

Could you do this as a web query in Excel

1)Data|Import External Data

2) In the new window place the URL of the web source and press import

This will provide you with fresh data each time you open excel. If you need to save it you could cut and pate to a new work sheet or file
