    Calculation of OptionGroup (Access 2000)

I have a mail survey with simple Y, N, or N/A as the answers to questions. I'll have admin assistants input answers into db so I can do reports. I've copied the survey as frm_Entry with OptionGroups for each question. I would like to report on how many Y's, N's or N/A's. I'll append the demographics of the survey into a tbl_Results. But how do I get the answers to the questions into the table? If the answer to Q1 is Y, and Q2 is N, and Q3 is N/A, etc, then I want that info in the tbl_Results as fields Q1 with a value of 3, Q2 = 2, and Q3 = 1, etc.
I've tried pulling in the Forms!frm_Entry.Q1.Value, but obviously that doesn't work... Am I on the right track?

Re: Calculation of OptionGroup (Access 2000)

    You should use two tables:

tblDemographics with data about the respondent. Primary key say RespondentID

    tblResults with three fields:
    RespondentID (linked to tblDemographics)
    QuestionID (number)
    Reply (number)

The primary key of this table is on the combination of RespondentID and QuestionID. This table will have a record for each respondent - question combination.
    (1, 1, 3)
    (1, 2, 2)
    (1, 3, 1)
    (2, 1, 2)

This setup makes it much easier to tally the results.
