    PDF and Gradients (2003)

Does anyone know why a gradient will turn solid when I create a PDF from the file? I've used both CutePDF and Adobe Acrobat and get the same results.
It will also print as a solid when going to a laser printer, even though it looks fine within Publisher.

What version of Adobe are you using? I tried it and printed in Adobe 7 just fine. See attached

I got it to work by using a 1-color gradient set to Light. When I used a 2-color gradient and set the transparency of color 2 to gradually fade out, it wouldn't work. (actually, it would work when I first applied it, but as I did more work, it would end up printing as a solid, dark color)
