    VPN router

I am considering to set up my home network so that when I am on the road I will be able to connect back to the home machine and access the shared folders. Instead of using remote control software, I am more interested in having a VPN setup on my network. I would like to know if anyone has any good recommendation on picking the right VPN router. I am confused in some of the products claiming that they are VPN endpoints.

    Thanks

    Re: VPN router

Hey there. I actually just set this up at my home.

Linksys wireless router/switch 54T + the firmware upgrade from here. http://sveasoft.com/

I setup a vpn for my personal use and an ipsec vpn tunnel between my home and my friends home. Works great.

    Re: VPN router

    Hi there,

Is the Linksys WRT54G a VPN router? The manual says it supports VPN pass-through. What actually does it mean?

    Thanks

    Re: VPN router

The router doesn't support vpn out of the box. If you download and load the firmware from sveasoft, it makes it a total vpn solution.

I take it that the Talisman - VPN is the one that I want to download?
    Thanks John

Hey, sorry for the delay. I use the free one, Alchemy. It's here:

Its the public binary one, second from the top.
