Excel file wont print staple or hole punch (ExcelXP SP3)

I have an excel file sent from a user. when we send files to the printer, our printers can hole punch and staple the print jobs. If I send this excel file to the printer, and specify to hole punch and staple this excel file the result is the settings just get ignored. Its only on this excel file. if I test by creating a new excel file and sending it to print with stapling and hole-punching turned on, the result is this new excel file prints with hole punching and stapling. ive run an Excel open and repair on the clients excel file but still no success.

it appears to be file related. any ideas?

Does the workbook have a VBA Before Print event routine in it?

Have you tried copying/pasting the worksheets into a new workbook? Or copying all the cells and pasting that into a new workbook?
