    Embed linked images (2000)

    I have seen many tips for doing the opposite but I can't find a way of quickly embedding all linked images (gifs) in a rtf document. I know I can do it manually, but I'm really looking for a way to do it in one step, say with a VB script since the document is being generated in this way anyway.

    Any help appreciated

    Thanks

    Welcome to Woody's Lounge!

    Ctrl+Shift+F9 unlinks all fields in the selection, so if you select the entire document and press Ctrl+Shift+F9, you'll unlink all linked images, but also all other fields.

    The following VBA macro will unlink all linked pictures, but leave other fields alone:

    Sub UnlinkPictures()
    Dim sh As Shape, insh As InlineShape
    For Each sh In ActiveDocument.Shapes
    If sh.Type = msoLinkedPicture Then
    sh.LinkFormat.BreakLink
    End If
    Next sh
    For Each insh In ActiveDocument.InlineShapes
    If insh.Type = wdInlineShapeLinkedPicture Then
    insh.LinkFormat.BreakLink
    End If
    Next insh
    End Sub
